CONVERSATIONS WITH A FRIED EGG

Meat Market | The Craft Room
Melbourne Fringe Festival Hub
7 – 18 OCTOBER 2025
Blending clowning, physical theatre, and philosophical nonsense, Big Dog Theatre’s, ‘Conversations with a Fried Egg’ is weird. It’s also sad. It’s like standing in your kitchen having a deep conversation with yourself, your breakfast, your inner demons, and the creatures in the walls.
We meet Egg – a tender yet over-easy optimist – and a family of rats. Hungry rats. A fried egg may mean more to them than just a meal.
When cracks appear in your shell, will you be poached, fried, or scrambled? ‘Conversations with a Fried Egg’ is an absurd exploration of life, loneliness and breakfast.

About Luce

Luce is a talented observer and interpreter, they can analyse and understand a script quickly and easily. They are committed to researching the inspirations of a text or givens of a character. Part of the fascination with characters comes from their imaginative skills, being obsessed with stories and toys as a kid, only to never grow out of that instinct and continue to over-commit to roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons with her friends into their 20’s.

Studying the theory and practice behind theatre making in VCE at VCASS and completing a BFA degree in Theatre Making at VCA showed all the facets of acting to Luce; the history – with Greek Theatre, Shakespeare, Commedia Dell’Arte to the present with Stanislavski and all around the world with Tadashi Suzuki, Grotowski and Brecht. With 5 years of Drama School under her belt, Luce has a lot to bring to the table but is also aware that you never stop learning.
